Q: What does your organization do?
A: LCCH’s mission is to "provide a community forum to assess housing resources, to identify problems, and to create solutions through collaboration." Please see the About Us and/or LCCH Programs sections of the LCCH web site for further information. LCCH is a not-for-profit organization serving the citizens of Licking County, Ohio. LCCH is not a government agency or real estate firm.
Q: Do you have low-income apartments?
A: LCCH maintains nearly 40 apartment units in Newark, Ohio for its Transitional Housing program, and manages four apartments for the T.J. Evans Foundation. Our Project Homeline housing resource database lists nearly 6,000 rental housing units throughout Licking County at a variety of lease rates and terms, available to all income levels. If you have property that you would like to list on the database, donate to LCCH, or would like us to consider for use as transitional housing or in association with other LCCH housing programs, please call us (740)345-1970 or toll-free at 1-877-421-LCCH.
Q: Do you provide emergency housing?
A: LCCH does not provide emergency housing. If you are in need of a place to sleep for the night, please contact the Salvation Army at 345-8120 (days) or 345-8120/345-3289 (evenings and week-ends). The Crisis and Information Center at 345-HELP(4357) is available 24-hours a day with helpful information and referral options. If you are a victim of domestic violence, please contact New Beginnings Center for Domestic Violence at 349-8719 or toll-free 1-800-686-2760.
If you are in danger of losing your current housing in the near future, please contact LCCH at 345-1970 or 1-877-421-5224(LCCH) for further assistance.
Q: Do you help with metro (Licking Metropolitan Housing Authority) deposit assistance?
A: Project Homeline can assist those persons with a Housing Authority Voucher (issued by the Licking Metropolitan Housing Authority) who are not eligible for any other services in the community. These funds are limited, and will be awarded only on a first come, first served basis. All others will be provided with information and referrals to other community resources that may be able to assist you.
Q: Do you help with utilities?
A: Project Homeline can provide utility assistance to those persons not eligible for other community resources on a first come, first served basis with limited funding or will be provided with information and referrals to other sources. The HOPWA program (under Project Homeline) can assist those persons living with HIV/AIDS on a first come, first served basis with limited funds.
Q: Do you help with deposit and rental assistance?
A: Project Homeline can provide deposit and rental assistance to those persons not eligible for other community resources on a first come, first served basis with limited funding or will be provided with information and referrals to other sources. The HOPWA program (under Project Homeline) can assist those persons living with HIV/AIDS on a first come, first served basis with limited funds.
Q: Do you provide transportation assistance?
A: LCCH provides transportation assistance only to those persons participating in LCCH programs. Other individuals should call the City of Newark Department of Community Development (345-6695) or the Licking County Department of Job and Family Services (349-6225) or (888)895-2790 (toll-free) for transportation needs.
Q: Do you help with or give people furniture or appliances?
A: LCCH residents successfully completing the Transitional Housing Program are often assisted with donated items, as available. Project Homeline can provide information and referrals to other community resources that may be able to assist with needed items.
Q: Do you pay for storage units?
A: No, we do not pay for storage units or moving expenses.
Q: Do you pay for moving house trailers or other expenses?
A: LCCH is not able to help with moving house trailers, mobile homes or other related expenses.
Q: Can you help with diapers?
A: LCCH can assist those residents participating in the LCCH Transitional Housing Program with necessary items. All others should contact the Crisis and Information Center at 345-4357.
